Strengthening community-led education and regional collaboration for sustainable development

The Chairman of the Mgbidi Education Board, Mazi Oha Chukwujekwu, recently visited the Enugu State Liaison Office of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), represented by Hon. Edeani M. Edeani, to explore strategic collaboration opportunities aimed at expanding educational and developmental prospects for the Mgbidi Ancient Kingdom.

The meeting emphasised the critical role of community-led initiatives in driving long-term, sustainable development. Participants discussed how the Mgbidi Education Fund’s grassroots education interventions can complement regional and government programmes to improve access to quality education, empower youth, and develop local human capital.

During the engagement, the SEDC liaison commended the Mgbidi Education Board for its visionary leadership and for establishing the first community-led education fund in Enugu State. He described the initiative as a replicable model with the potential to positively impact Mgbidi and neighbouring communities across Enugu State and the wider South East region.
