Seven students. Thirty-four applications. One shared commitment to educational opportunity.
The Mgbidi Education Foundation (MEF) is pleased to announce the seven applicants selected as recipients of the 2026 MEF Bursary following a review of the 34 applications received. This milestone represents an important step in the Foundation’s continued commitment to supporting the education of Mgbidi’s sons and daughters. By recognising students pursuing different academic disciplines and educational pathways, MEF seeks to encourage academic progress, ease some of the financial pressures associated with education, and strengthen the community’s investment in its young people. The application and profile update stages have now closed. The Foundation is proceeding with individual notifications to the selected applicants, marking the beginning of the next stage of the bursary process.

What Happens Next? Selected Applicants Have 48 Hours to Respond
The selection announcement marks the beginning of the next stage, rather than the end of the process. Each selected applicant is being contacted individually by email with a formal notification of selection and instructions for the next steps. Recipients are expected to respond within 48 hours of receiving their notification email.
Selected applicants should therefore check their email accounts, including their spam or junk folders, and read the notification carefully. They should respond within the stated timeframe and follow the instructions provided by the Foundation. The individual notification contains the recipient’s personalised congratulatory graphic and guidance on making a public announcement. Applicants should use the information provided in their own email rather than rely on assumptions about the remaining administrative steps.
Public Announcement Requirements for Selected Recipients
As part of the bursary process, each selected recipient has been asked to publicly announce their selection and express gratitude to the Foundation. The announcement must be published no later than Saturday, 31 October 2026. Recipients are expected to share their personalised MEF congratulatory graphic on the Mgbidi Undergraduate Association platform, in the Mgbidi WhatsApp groups they belong to, and on their personal social media pages, including WhatsApp Status, Facebook, Instagram, X or LinkedIn, where applicable. To maintain a consistent presentation across all seven announcements, each recipient must use their personalised graphic exactly as supplied, without cropping, editing or applying filters. Recipients must also submit a screenshot or link confirming each post by replying to their notification email or contacting MEF Admin on WhatsApp.
The Foundation has supplied a caption for recipients to copy and complete with their personal details. Each recipient should fill in the requested information, retain the remainder of the caption as supplied, and ensure that the final post is respectful and appreciative. For privacy and security, recipients must not publish their bank details, telephone numbers or any part of their bursary applications. Each beneficiary should announce their own selection rather than publish an announcement on behalf of another recipient.
Mgbidi Youth Academic Challenge 2026: The Preliminary Stage Continues
Alongside the bursary programme, preparations for the Mgbidi Youth Academic Challenge 2026 are progressing. The preliminary stage was originally scheduled for Monday, 26 October to Saturday, 31 October 2026, but a fresh date will be announced soon. Young people, families and other members of the Mgbidi community are encouraged to stay alert for official announcements and further information. Through this initiative, MEF continues to encourage young people to engage with learning and pursue academic excellence.

Investing in Education, Strengthening Mgbidi
The 2026 bursary selection reflects the importance of creating opportunities for students to continue their education and work towards their aspirations. Financial assistance can help address some of the pressures students face while pursuing their studies, although the specific support available to each recipient will be communicated through the Foundation’s official channels. MEF remains committed to educational empowerment, opportunity and the development of future generations. The Foundation appreciates everyone who applied, those who support its initiatives, and the wider Mgbidi community whose commitment to education makes such programmes possible.
To the seven selected recipients, congratulations on reaching this milestone. Respond promptly to your individual notifications, complete the required next steps, and follow the instructions for your public announcements.
To the wider community, we encourage you to continue supporting educational initiatives and to follow official MEF communications for confirmed updates on the bursary and the Mgbidi Youth Academic Challenge 2026.
Stay alert. Stay prepared. Keep building the future of Mgbidi.
